Considering that
Bentley's enormous engines would put many a freight train to shame, unveiling the
Continental Supersports as the most powerful in the company's history is saying quite a bit. But that doesn't mean it's lacking room for improvement. Leave it to Anderson Germany, then to find that extra bit of oomph.
The Deutsche tuning house that recently gave us the
590-horsepower tuned Balboni edition Lamborghini Gallardo has now turned its attention to the Supersports, cranking up the muscle from 621 horsepower to 685. The power boost comes courtesy of a remapped ECU, a new air filter and a variable exhaust that also has the benefit of dropping 38 pounds off the Supersport's already-reduced curb weight.
The example you see here, decked out in matte silver with 22-inch modular alloys and a refitted interior, has also been fitted with Anderson's new body kit. Only 300 sets will be produced, capable of fitting the standard GT, GTC and Speed models as well. After that, we don't doubt Anderson will start work on modifying the next-gen Continental. Have a closer look in the high-res image gallery below.

The long wait is finally over and Top Gear is back for its 15th series of the modern era. We won't spoil all of the fun for those who haven't seen it, but we can say that the premiere was... highly educational. We got a look at the first flex-fuel
Bentley and received
further confirmation that James May was likely the cause of the Icelandic volcano eruption that shut down European air space for nearly two weeks.
We also saw the new reasonably priced car, a brown
Kia Cee'd, get broken in by some British C-listers before the real celebrities start in on it next week.
By far, though, the highlight of the program was the physics lesson from Jeremy Clarkson that demonstrates why there aren't more three-wheeled vehicles in the world. Clarkson set out on a treacherous 14-mile journey in a Reliant Robin to learn whether it's worthwhile to save money on the vehicle registration tax with a three-wheeled conveyance. You'll have to watch for yourself to learn the answer to that question, and since you are undoubtedly a resourceful bunch, we're sure you know where to find the full episode if you don't happen to live in the UK. But if you don't,
make the jump for the segment.

2011 Bentley Continental Supersports convertible - Click above for high-res image gallery
The crew from Crewe just spent some time exercising their newest machine in the mountains of Colorado and came back with a fresh batch of photos and video. Our driving impressions of the
Bentley Continental Supersports convertible will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, take a few moments to enjoy the Supersports drop top racing along in the shadow of the Rockies.
Oddly, unlike the Supersports coupe, the convertible retains the rear seats to go along with the more powerful 621 horsepower twin-turbocharged W12. At 202 miles per hour, the Supersports convertible is claimed to be the world's fastest four seat cabrio. Check out the gallery below and
make the jump to see the Supersports in eerily quiet action.

Nobody actually
needs image and fashion statements like
Bentleys,and
Rolls-Royces, but those who choose to buy them anyway naturally want to have the latest and greatest. And we don't blame them. As such, Bentley reportedly wants to get on a schedule of introducing a new model at least every 18 months, if not sooner. Expect to see further variations on existing models like the
Continental SuperSports coupe and convertible in lieu of completely new platforms.
The rapid turnover of model variants goes hand-in-hand with Bentley's ongoing migration back to performance-oriented luxury and away from the more staid approach that took precedence under Rolls-Royce ownership. Ever since Bentley and Rolls were split up and sold to
Volkswagen and
BMW respectively, the two brands have developed distinctly different character traits, and you can expect that pattern to continue.

Bentley Continental Ultrasports 702 by Wheelsandmore - Click above for high-res image gallery
Five-hundred-fifty horsepower is an awful lot of muscle. But when it's being produced by six liters of displacement, 12 cylinders and two turbochargers, you have to figure even more is possible.
Bentley themselves knew this to be true, so they squeezed an extra 50 or so out of the
Continental's enormous engine for the
Speed version. But there was still more to be extracted, so they developed the
Supersports model with over 620 horsepower.
Determined that there's still more to coax out of those colossal specs, German tuning house Wheelsandmore has just released its own tuning package for the Supersports that brings output up to 702 horsepower, with a commensurate bump to 650 lb-ft of torque (up from the standard 480, the Speed's 550 and the Supersports' 590) to create the Continental Ultrasports 702.
All they had to do to get the bonus 80 horses was tweak the ECU and fit a new exhaust. But true to their name, Wheelsandmore didn't stop there, fitting a set of 21-inch, 3-piece modular rims on Dunlop Sport Maxx tires, and an electronically adjustable suspension that drops the ride height to less than 8 inches off the ground at speed. Check it out in the high-res image gallery below.

2010 Bentley Continental Supersports Coupe - Click above for high-res image gallery
We've come to expect the ultimate in customization from
Bentley. If you've got the scratch, the company will be more than happy to custom tailor its products to fit your tastes - right down to the color of your car's seat belts. It should come as no surprise, then, that the company is now allowing potential
Continental Supersports Coupe buyers to order their cars with a back seat.

One of the coolest parts of the 612-horsepower coupe is the fact that, for its part,
Bentley tried to trim the car's fat. Weight got ditched wherever possible, including the cabin. Those hefty, infinitely adjustable, heated, cooled and massaging front buckets were swapped for lightweight carbon fiber-backed units, and the two rear seats were scrapped all together. In their place? A sexy piece of carbon-fiber bracing. We like.
But evidently,
Bentley buyers would prefer their two-door to have more seats. To help boost
Continental Supersports Coupe sales, the company has decided to offer the back thrones as a stand alone option. Checking the box will put the standard front seats in, ditch the rear bracing and re-install the rears. There's no word on exactly how many pounds that will add to the car's waist line, but it can't do the coupe any favors. Boo to this.
